Aurora Awards 2005

Home building professionals in a 12-state region received prestigious AURORA Awards for new home construction and design excellence during an industry gala on July 16, 2005 – coinciding with the 2005 Southeast Building Conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The nationally recognized AURORA Awards honor builders, designers, architects and other home building industry professionals from Texas to Virginia.

With its grand-scale three story plantation-styled appeal, this flagship residence was built commensurate with its unique setting and architecture. Designers challenged themselves to create a southern traditional coastal design with sophisticated accents favoring a distinct European flair. It is situated in front of a natural protected estuary offering privacy and tranquility. After entering the glass French doors, you’ll feel the grandeur that this home expresses with its large vaulted ceiling, three-story solid masonry painted brick fireplace, custom designed wood paneled walls, and the oversized louvered shutters that enclose the second level’s wrap around retreat. In keeping with the plantation theme, Brazilian floors were added. Additionally, use of contemporary lighting, custom cabinetry, and sleek bath fixtures showcase the European accents. The southern traditional appeal was enhanced with a third-story observatory tower with spectacular views of the Gulf, a quiet sitting area nestled in the eaves of the rooftop accessible by a catwalk, and several spacious outdoor porches and private views of the estuary.
